The cake is very delicate straight after baking, but once cooled it becomes more compact and intensely almond-flavoured. It\u2019s quick to make &#8211; simply blend all the ingredients together. Highly recommended for almond cake lovers!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients for the simple almond cake:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>250 g butter<\/li>\n<li>250 g marzipan<\/li>\n<li>150 g caster sugar<\/li>\n<li>6 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon almond extract<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>150 g plain flour<\/li>\n<li>1\u00bd teaspoons baking powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Additionally:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>fresh raspberries, to serve<\/li>\n<li>icing sugar, for dusting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All ingredients should be at room temperature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Place the butter and marzipan (both cut into pieces) into the bowl of a food processor. Add the sugar. Blend until smooth and fully combined &#8211; there should be no visible lumps. Add both extracts and blend briefly. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition. Add the plain flour and baking powder and blend until just combined.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Grease a 25 cm ring tin with butter and dust with flour, shaking off the excess. Pour the batter into the tin and level the surface.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bake at 170\u00b0C for about 50 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. The cake may rise significantly and then sink slightly.
