This is one of the best plum crumble slices you’ll ever make. Unlike many plum cakes, this version doesn’t include almonds or other nuts – just simple, inexpensive ingredients you’re likely to have in your kitchen already. Ingredients for the plum crumble slice:<\/span><\/p>\n

• 300 g plain flour<\/li>\n
• 200 g unsalted butter<\/li>\n
• 1 teaspoon baking powder<\/li>\n
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon<\/li>\n
• 1 large egg<\/li>\n
• 1 large egg yolk<\/li>\n
• 120 g light soft brown sugar<\/li>\n
• 800 g plums, stoned and quartered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Place all the ingredients for the dough, except the plums, into the bowl of a food processor and pulse until the mixture comes together. The dough will be very thick, almost like a cookie dough. If it feels particularly sticky, chill it in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.<\/p>\n

  Line the base of a 24 cm square tin with baking paper. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions. Press the first half evenly over the base of the tin. Arrange the quartered plums evenly over the dough, then scatter the remaining dough over the top in small pieces.<\/p>\n

  Bake at 180\u00b0C for about 50 minutes, or until golden brown. Leave to cool completely, then dust generously with icing sugar before serving.<\/p>\n
