Golden cinnamon cookies are perfect for this time of year and full of flavour. Named after their main ingredient \u2014 golden syrup \u2014 they have a delicious caramel and cinnamon taste\u2026 perfect autumn cookies.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Yield: 30 cookies.<\/p>\n
Ingredients for the golden cinnamon cookies:<\/u><\/p>\n
\n
60 g butter<\/li>\n
115 g golden syrup<\/li>\n
2 Tbsp brown sugar<\/li>\n
1 Tbsp caster sugar or icing sugar<\/li>\n
185 g plain flour<\/li>\n
\u00bd\u00a0tsp baking powder<\/li>\n
\u00bd tsp bicarbonate of soda<\/li>\n
3 tsp ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Combine the butter, golden syrup and sugars in a medium saucepan. Stir over low heat until the butter has melted, then leave to cool for 5 minutes. Stir in the flour and cinnamon to form a soft dough.<\/p>\n
Roll rounded teaspoons of the mixture into balls and place them about 2 cm apart on baking trays lined with baking paper. Gently flatten with a floured fork until about 1 cm thick.<\/p>\n
Bake at 220\u00b0C for about 10 – 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Leave the cookies on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool.<\/p>\n
