A delicious strawberry sauce for ice cream, waffles, pancakes\u2026 and many other treats :). During strawberry season, it\u2019s worth keeping a jar ready in the fridge to serve at any moment. It\u2019s quick to make, absolutely delicious, and perfectly enhances homemade desserts.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ingredients for strawberry sauce:<\/span><\/p>\n

• 500 g strawberries, fresh or frozen<\/li>\n
• 1\/5 cup sugar (or less)<\/li>\n
• freshly squeezed juice from half a lemon<\/li>\n
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla paste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Cut the strawberries into smaller pieces. Place them in a saucepan together with the sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then simmer uncovered over very low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly. You can blend half of the sauce for a smoother consistency, but I personally love the strawberry pieces and never do that ;). Set aside and let cool.<\/p>\n

  Store the strawberry sauce in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.<\/p>\n
