Great for Shrove Tuesday! American buttermilk pancakes are delicious and quick to prepare, with a delicate, light, and fluffy texture. Serve them with chocolate sauce, maple syrup, or jam, if you like.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ingredients for American buttermilk pancakes:<\/u><\/p>\n

    \n
  • 150 g plain flour<\/li>\n
  • 2 tsp baking powder<\/li>\n
  • 2\u00bd Tbsp caster sugar<\/li>\n
  • a pinch of salt<\/li>\n
  • 1 large egg<\/li>\n
  • 350-375 ml buttermilk<\/li>\n
  • 30 g butter, melted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Whisk together the flour, baking powder, caster sugar, and salt in a large bowl.<\/p>\n

    Whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter in a separate bowl. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.<\/p>\n

    Cook in a small amount of oil or in a dry, non-stick pan, frying on both sides until golden. Serve immediately with your favourite toppings.<\/p>\n
