Highly recommended!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">This cake comes from Margareta\u2019s recipe \u2013 thank you very much for sharing it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients for mazarin cake:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">200 g butter, melted<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">200 ml milk<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">3 eggs<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">slightly less than 1 cup caster sugar<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">2 teaspoons vanilla sugar<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">125 g marzipan<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">zest and juice of 1 lemon<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">300 g plain flour<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">2 teaspoons baking powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All ingredients should be at room temperature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the milk, stir and set aside. In the bowl of a mixer, beat the eggs with both sugars until pale, fluffy and nearly tripled in volume. Add the lemon juice and zest. Add the marzipan, finely grated, and mix until combined. Sift the flour and baking powder directly into the mixture, then pour in the butter and milk mixture. Fold gently with a spatula in one direction just until combined.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Line the base of a 24 \u00d7 24 cm square tin with baking paper. Pour the batter into the tin and level the surface.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bake at 160\u00b0C for about 30\u201340 minutes, increasing the temperature to 170\u00b0C towards the end if needed, until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly in the tin, then glaze.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients for lemon icing:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>1 cup icing sugar<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons lemon juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mix the ingredients in a bowl using the back of a spoon until smooth.
