Apples coated in pancake batter – a childhood memory. So yummy! This recipe comes from a 30-year-old cookbook, so the flavours are classic and well worth revisiting. It\u2019s the perfect afternoon dessert and a great way to use up winter apples from the pantry.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ingredients for the apple ring pancakes:<\/u><\/p>\n

\n
• 1 cup plain flour<\/li>\n
• 1 cup milk<\/li>\n
• 2 eggs<\/li>\n
• 1 tsp sugar<\/li>\n
• half a packet of vanilla sugar (8 g)<\/li>\n
• 1 Tbsp oil<\/li>\n
• 4 large apples<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Additionally:<\/u><\/p>\n

  \n
  • rapeseed oil for frying<\/li>\n
  • caster sugar with cinnamon, for coating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Core the apples, then peel and cut them into 0.5 cm slices.<\/p>\n

    In a bowl, add all the ingredients apart from the apples and mix until smooth (if necessary, add 3 tbsp of flour).<\/p>\n

    Heat a few tablespoons of oil in a frying pan. Dip the apple slices into the batter and fry in the hot oil on both sides until golden. Transfer to kitchen paper to drain, then sprinkle or coat with cinnamon sugar.<\/p>\n
