Amazing brownie muffins baked with pears inside. Poached vanilla pears and a chocolate glaze make these muffins extra special. An excellent dessert for cosy autumn evenings!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Makes 10 cupcakes.<\/p>\n

Ingredients for the pears in syrup:<\/u><\/p>\n

• 3 ripe pears<\/li>\n
• 3 tsp vanilla paste<\/li>\n
• 150 g sugar<\/li>\n
• 750 ml water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Cut the pears into quarters and remove the cores. Bring the water, sugar, and vanilla to the boil. Add the pears to the syrup and simmer gently for about 10 minutes, or until tender, turning occasionally. Transfer the pears to a plate and leave to drain.<\/p>\n

  Ingredients for the chocolate brownie muffins:<\/u><\/p>\n

  • 180 g butter<\/li>\n
  • 200 g dark chocolate<\/li>\n
  • 2 large eggs<\/li>\n
  • 150 g caster sugar<\/li>\n
  • 180 g plain\u00a0flour<\/li>\n
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder<\/li>\n
  • \u00bd tsp baking powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    All ingredients should be at room temperature.<\/p>\n

    Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Remove from the heat, add the chopped chocolate, and leave for 1 minute. Stir until smooth, then leave to cool slightly.<\/p>\n

    Lightly whisk the eggs in a bowl. Add the sugar, then the chocolate and butter mixture, and mix well. Sift the plain flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder directly into the mixture and stir until just combined.<\/p>\n

    Divide the brownie batter between 10 muffin cases. Gently press a pear quarter into the centre of each one.<\/p>\n

    Bake at 170\u00b0C for about 20 minutes. Leave to cool for 15 minutes, then serve topped with chocolate glaze.<\/p>\n

    Ingredients for the chocolate glaze:<\/u><\/p>\n

    • 40 ml whipping cream<\/li>\n
    • 60 g\u00a0dark\u00a0chocolate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Heat the whipping cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it is almost boiling. Remove from the heat, add the chopped chocolate, and leave for 2 minutes. After this time, stir until smooth and glossy. Allow the glaze to cool slightly before pouring it over the muffins.<\/p>\n
