Your favourite cookie in a giant version! Instead of scooping and shaping each cookie individually, simply spread the dough into a baking tin and cut it into squares after baking – a real time-saver. Even better, you can bake one large cookie in a round tin and slice it into triangles; you\u2019ll need two 21 cm springform tins. These cookies are thicker than traditional ones, delicately chewy and soft in the centre. A treat that everyone, young or old, will enjoy.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ingredients for the giant chocolate chip cookie:<\/u><\/p>\n

• 115 g butter<\/li>\n
• 100 g\u00a0light\u00a0brown sugar<\/li>\n
• 50 g caster sugar<\/li>\n
• 1 tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\n
• 1 large egg<\/li>\n
• 200 g plain\u00a0flour<\/li>\n
• \u00bd tsp baking soda<\/li>\n
• \u00bd tsp salt<\/li>\n
• 200 g milk or dark chocolate chips, or finely chopped chocolate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  \u00a0All ingredients should be at room temperature.<\/p>\n

  Cream the butter and sugars together in a bowl until pale and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla, and beat well. Add the flour, bicarbonate of soda, and salt, and mix until just combined. Add most of the chocolate chips (leave a small handful for sprinkling on top) and mix briefly to combine.<\/p>\n

  Prepare a 23 \u00d7 33 cm baking tin lined with baking paper. Spread the cookie dough evenly in the tin and sprinkle with the remaining chocolate chips.<\/p>\n

  Bake the giant chocolate chip cookie at 175\u00b0C for about 20\u201322 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven, leave to cool, then cut into squares.<\/p>\n
