Chocolate milkshake

A rich and creamy chocolate milkshake made with just a few simple ingredients. This quick and easy recipe uses vanilla ice cream – homemade if you like, for an even better texture – and smooth chocolate ganache. The ganache can be prepared in advance and kept in the fridge, making it easy to blend up a delicious chocolate milkshake whenever you fancy one :).

Serves: 2.

Ingredients for the milkshake:

  • 250 g vanilla ice cream
  • 125 ml milk
  • chocolate ganache, recipe below

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve immediately, topped with a little whipped cream.

Ingredients for the chocolate ganache:

  • 50 ml whipping cream, 30%
  • 50 g dark chocolate, chopped

Gently heat the whipping cream in a small saucepan until almost boiling, then remove from the heat. Add the chopped chocolate and leave for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth and glossy, then set aside to cool slightly.

The chocolate ganache can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days. Before using, warm it gently over a bain-marie or in short bursts in the microwave until smooth and pourable.

Enjoy!
