Easy, fast and delicious cake! Sticky chocolate cake straight from Sweden. This is one of the most popular homemade Swedish cakes. It is simple to make with essential ingredients, and you don’t even need a mixer! Served with whipped cream and fruit. It tastes like the best brownies :).
Ingredients for the kladdkaka:
- 70 g ground almonds
- 115 g butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 large eggs
- 170 g brown sugar
- 40 g cocoa
- a pinch of salt
All ingredients should be at room temperature.
Add eggs and sugar to a large mixing bowl and whisk until well combined. Add the sifted cocoa powder and salt, and whisk until no clumps remain. Fold in the almonds and melted butter, and stir until just combined.
Line a baking pan (21 cm in diameter) with baking paper. Pour batter into your prepared pan and bake at 175°C for 15 – 20 minutes. The cake is finished when the batter appears set and moves slightly when tilted. Allow to cool on a cooling rack until ready to serve.
Kladdkaka can be served with 150 ml whipped cream and fresh fruit sprinkled with icing sugar.
Enjoy!
