An easy, quick and delicious cake! A sticky chocolate cake straight from Sweden – one of the country’s most popular homemade bakes. It’s simple to make with basic ingredients, and you don’t even need a mixer! Serve with whipped cream and fresh fruit. It tastes like the best brownies :).
Ingredients for the kladdkaka:
- 70 g ground almonds
- 115 g butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 large eggs
- 170 g brown sugar
- 40 g cocoa
- a pinch of salt
All ingredients should be at room temperature.
Add the eggs and sugar to a large mixing bowl and whisk until well combined. Add the sifted cocoa powder and salt, and whisk until no lumps remain. Fold in the ground almonds and melted butter, stirring until just combined.
Line a 21 cm round baking tin with baking paper. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake at 175°C for 15 – 20 minutes. The cake is ready when the top looks set but the centre still has a slight wobble when gently shaken. Leave to cool on a wire rack before serving.
Kladdkaka can be served with 150 ml of whipped cream and fresh fruit, dusted with icing sugar.
Enjoy!
