Chocolate crepes

The most delicious chocolate crepes I’ve eaten. Enjoy them with your favourite jam, Nutella, fruit or cheese filling for breakfast or dessert. Chocolate crepes are fantastic and easy to make!

Yield: 20 crepes.

Ingredients for the chocolate crepes:

  • 80 g dark chocolate (minimum 60% cocoa)
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 500 ml milk
  • 1 (to 1 and 1/4) cup plain flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 Tbsp icing sugar
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsp dark rum
  • pinch of salt

Heat the milk, add the chocolate, and mix until the chocolate is dissolved and cool. Add the remaining ingredients and blend. Leave the batter for 30 – 60 minutes.

Cook with a small amount of oil on both sides, then remove from the heat. Ensure they do not burn too much; the softer ones are tastier. Repeat with the remaining batter, lightly brushing the pan with oil between crepes.

Serve with your favourite toppings.

Enjoy!
