Is there a better time of year for green smoothies than spring? Let’s start with kale — a wonderful combination of kale, kiwi and banana. You can hardly taste the kale, which makes this smoothie a hit even with children — they’ll love it for its flavour and refreshing lightness. Highly recommended!

Serves: 2.

Ingredients for the kale, banana and kiwi smoothie:

  • 1 banana
  • 70 g kale (about 2 leaves)
  • 2 kiwis
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • a few ice cubes

Peel the banana and kiwis. Prepare the kale by removing any tough stalks. Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
