Without a doubt, the best chocolate Bundt cake I have ever eaten. Made with real chocolate and topped with a chocolate glaze, it is simple and quick to prepare. Highly recommended!
Ingredients for the chocolate Bundt cake:
- 120 g dark chocolate
- 3 tbsp milk
- 150 g butter
- 150 g caster sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 200 g plain flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
All the ingredients should be at room temperature.
Melt the chocolate with the milk in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water. Leave to cool slightly.
Place the butter and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until fully incorporated. Pour in the cooled chocolate mixture and beat until combined. Sift the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder directly into the mixture. Gently fold in with a spatula, just until combined, no longer.
Transfer the batter to a loaf tin lined with baking paper (or a 22 cm ring-shaped Bundt tin) and smooth the top.
Bake at 180°C for about 30–40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Remove from the oven and leave to cool.
Ingredients for the chocolate glaze:
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 1 tbsp butter
- a little milk
Pour the melted chocolate, melted with the butter and a little milk in a heatproof bowl over a pan of gently simmering water, over the cooled cake.
Enjoy!
