Oreo ice cream is a simple ice cream made with the popular Oreo cookies. You can also use your favourite cookies or chocolate instead. Without the cookies, it becomes a delicious classic ice cream, perfect for serving with your favourite sweet sauces.
Makes 1.5 litres.
Ingredients for Oreo ice cream:
- 400 g sweetened condensed milk, chilled
- 600 ml double cream chilled
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 300 g Oreo cookies, roughly broken into pieces (reserve some for the top)
Place the chilled condensed milk, double cream and vanilla extract into a large bowl or the bowl of a mixer. Whip until a thick and fluffy. Add the crushed Oreo cookies and gently fold them in with a spatula.
Transfer the mixture into a container, sprinkling the reserved Oreo pieces over the top. Cover and place in the freezer for about 4 hours.
Before serving, leave the ice cream at room temperature for about 10 minutes to soften slightly.
Enjoy!
