Kale, pear and pineapple smoothie

A vibrant green smoothie made with kale, pear and pineapple :). This flavour combination was suggested by one of my readers – and it works beautifully! A perfect boost of energy to start your day or enjoy as a light afternoon pick-me-up.

Serves 2.

Ingredients for the kale smoothie:

  • 70 g kale (2–3 leaves)
  • 1 pear (Conference variety)
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple
  • freshly squeezed juice of 1 orange
  • ⅓ cup natural yoghurt
  • a few ice cubes

Remove the tough stems from the kale. Core the pear. Peel the pineapple, remove the hard centre and dice (measure 1 cup).

Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
