Nutella pie

A famous American dessert made with Nutella – Nutella pie. This is a no-bake treat with a dark Oreo biscuit base and a simple three-ingredient filling you can prepare in just 3 minutes. Wonderfully creamy and rich, it needs to be stored in the fridge. Definitely one for Nutella lovers!

Ingredients for the base:

  • 300 g Oreo
  • 60 g butter, melted

Place the biscuits and melted butter into a food processor and blend until the mixture resembles wet sand.

Transfer the crumb mixture into a deep (5 cm) loose-bottomed tart tin, 22 cm across the base and 25 cm across the top. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the base and halfway up the sides of the tin. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Ingredients for the Nutella filling:

  • 250 g full-fat cream cheese (such as Philadelphia), chilled
  • 400 g Nutella, at room temperature
  • 250 ml double cream, chilled

Place the cream cheese and Nutella into the bowl of a mixer and beat just until combined (do not whip). In a separate bowl, whip the cold double cream until stiff peaks form. Fold it gently into the Nutella mixture in three additions, mixing just until smooth and no streaks of cream remain.

Spread the filling over the chilled biscuit base and smooth the top. Refrigerate overnight (10–12 hours).

To decorate:

  • 200 ml double cream, chilled
  • 2 teaspoons icing sugar
  • a handful of hazelnuts
  • a few squares of dark chocolate

Whip the double cream with the icing sugar until stiff. Spoon or pipe over the chilled pie. Sprinkle with toasted, skinned and cooled hazelnuts, then grate dark chocolate over the top.

Store the Nutella pie in the fridge.

Enjoy!
