The simplest chocolate mousse imaginable. It really doesn’t get any easier than this ;). No eggs, no butter, and ready in just 2 minutes. You can replace the dark chocolate with your favourite milk or white chocolate (in that case, simply omit the icing sugar). Highly recommended served with fresh cherries!
Makes 4 servings.
Ingredients for the easiest chocolate mousse:
- 300 ml double cream, chilled
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoon icing sugar
Melt the chocolate over a bain-marie and leave to cool slightly.
Whip the double cream until stiff peaks form. Towards the end of whipping, add the icing sugar. With the mixer running, slowly pour in the slightly cooled melted chocolate in a thin stream, mixing continuously until fully incorporated.
Divide the mousse between serving glasses. Decorate with fresh cherries and, if desired, an extra dollop of whipped cream.
Enjoy!
