Delicious homemade truffles made with dried fruit, nuts, and a touch of honey. These prunes and date truffles are a wholesome festive treat – perfect as a naturally sweet snack. Highly recommended.
Makes 20 truffles.
Ingredients for prunes and date truffles:
- 1/2 cup prunes (pitted)
- 1/2 cup dates (pitted)
- 1 cup pecans
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder (you can use slightly less)
- 3 – 4 tablespoons maple syrup, golden syrup, or honey
For coating:
- melted chocolate, cocoa powder, or icing sugar
Place all truffle ingredients in a food processor and blend until finely chopped and well combined. Shape the mixture into small balls (about the size of a small walnut) and chill in the fridge until firm.
Roll the chilled truffles in cocoa powder, icing sugar, or coat in melted chocolate.
Store in the fridge.
Enjoy!
