These hazelnut truffles, made with roasted hazelnuts and sweetened condensed milk, taste like a luxurious version of Nutella and are impossible to get tired of… They’re absolutely delicious!
Makes about 35 truffles.
Ingredients for hazelnut truffles:
- ½ cup Nutella
- ½ cup roasted hazelnuts, finely ground
- ½ cup roasted hazelnuts, finely chopped
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
- 120 g dark chocolate (or half dark, half milk chocolate), melted over a bain-marie
- 1 tablespoon Frangelico hazelnut liqueur (optional; you can use 1 tablespoon vodka instead)
For coating:
- 150 g dark chocolate, melted over a bain-marie
Mix all the truffle ingredients thoroughly in a bowl or beat them together in the bowl of a stand mixer until well combined. Chill the mixture in the fridge until firm enough to shape. If, after 4 hours, it is still too soft, stir in a little more finely ground roasted hazelnuts or a little more melted chocolate. Keep in mind that after an overnight chill, the mixture becomes very firm.
Shape the chilled mixture into small balls, then return them to the fridge for 1 hour to firm up again. Coat each truffle in the melted chocolate.
Store the truffles in the fridge.
Enjoy!
